DOB: 5/4/19
Born on the day of the Kentucky Derby, this moon-spotted/ gold and white guy's dam was a 7 year old first freshener who delivered quads about one week early. It was a complicated delivery and we are so thankful to have this sole survivor join our humble herd. His dam's first freshening udder was capacious, well attached, and her teats were well placed/ milked like dream. Derby had two doting mothers for the first 8 weeks of his life (2 legged and 4 legged) and has fluorished. Derby has certainly won our hearts and we are excited to continue watching him develop.

Sired out of Lost Valley Legacy *S*B and out of Kyeema Ridge MS Black Shadow. As if the combination of Lost Valley and Rosasharn genetics aren't enough, this little guy's dam is out of Morning Star NR Moonshine- a littermate brother to a beloved goat that used to reside in my former Moxie Blues Farm (Morning Star NR Rosebud). This connection makes Maritime's Legacy feel like a long lost family member.

One just has to look at Black Shadow's udder (not filled in the picture above) to see the capacity, amazing MSL, and plumb/ plump milkable teats. This collapsible udder is a dream to milk and one that I'd love to see in future progeny at American Jewell Farm.
Receiving her Superior Genetics designation, Rosasharn Peppercorn is a gorgeous doe with a beautiful well attached udder. Again, the medial suspensory ligament is noteworthy as are the plumb teats with large orifices. Photo of SG Rosasharn KB Pepper Corn courtesy of Kyeema Ridge Farm.
A heavy linebreeding on Gay-Mor RA Kingwood ++*S, Laura Whitlock of Dawnland Farm writes of Legacy:
"Legacy represents the best of the best of the old time Nigerian lines that were pivotal in developing these little goats into dairy animals. Although it seems like yesterday in my mind's eye, many of Legacy's forebears date back to the 1990's. Legacy was used for 2018 kids--and his two daughters and two sons are stunning. It's obvious that he is a strong general appearance buck with all of his kids showing improvement in width, top lines, legs/feet. Although Legacy is a small and refined buck, probably due to the degree of his line breeding, he adds stature and strength to his offspring." We have one of those daughters (Dawnland America Jewell) along with Mariner Legacy and are thrilled to watch her grow here at American Jewell Farm.
I asked Amy Kowalik to describe Nickita and this is what she shared: "My Nickita girl is powerful, yet dairy, beautifully blended on all areas of the score card with sharp shoulders, long/ level body, beautifully attached mammary system that is very snug but capacious, beautiful medial with great fore and rear udder attachments." Picture above is of Nickita's dam ARMCH Lost Valley KW Nala 4*D 3*M, courtesy of Amy Kowalik, Lost Valley Nigerians.

Top and bottom, this pedigree is loaded with power house milkers that start with his dam. I bought him solely for his potential to improve milk production in my herd and was so pleased that his conformation was not lacking. He has a beautiful topline, sharp withers, straight legs, and nice brisket extension. Belle was a little shy when he arrived but is very inquisitive and sweet. Between his pedigree, conformation, and sweet personality, Belle is the full package.

Painted Pepper Farm was the first strictly Nigerian Dwarf organic dairy farm in the country and was primarily built off of Old Mountain Farm goats. As such, their focus was entirely on milk production and dairy character. Lemon Meringue is a beautiful example of what Painted Pepper has produced: a deep bodied doe with a soft capacious udder with 2" teats that are a dream to milk.

This mammary system is simply one of the best I've ever seen. From the teat size, teat placement, capacity, and overall attachments, this doe is truly amazing! Of course, she is also a very dairy animal that scored a 91 on LA so Order is the whole package.
FX is littermate sister to Sako and owned by Winning Streak Farm. She is a carbon copy of her dam, Order, and has the gorgeous conformation and mammary system of her dam. I love to see such consistency and can only hope that we can create a doe as nice as this.
In this photo, you can see Ida's general conformation that is so much like her daughter's (Order) and granddaughter's (FX). I'm guessing that beautiful cou clair coloring comes from her Promisedland sire.... and maybe those beautiful mammary systems too.
Summer Bird is another beautiful doe that exudes dairy strength. Of course, more Twincreeks and Promisedland genetics are at play in this exeptional doe's breeding.

The owner of the farm had some really lovely animals from Old Mountain Farm and Twin Creeks Farm and she produced some beautiful offspring. Nutmeg was a gorgeous doe who earned her permanent championship status in, both, ADGA and AGS while also earning her AR for milk production. Her dam and sire were out of some of the earliest Nigerian Dwarf foundation lines such as Goodwood, Gay-Mor, Stonewall, Pine Cone Valley, and Brush Creek.
And, while she may have been born 19 1/2 years ago, this doe is proof that some of the early dairy animals could still be very successful competing with many of today's goats.

Cheryle says of Ed's dam, "Old Mountain Farm Millet was a beautiful doe who moved to another farm after kidding here. Despite her only once a day milkings here, and a stressful 18 hour truck ride, she stepped off the transport truck, walked into her first three show rings as a six-year-old and easily became a finished champion. The first time in full hair coat only a couple of hours after arriving at her destination."

When Julie Mannix was kind enough to send Old Mountain Farm Anna Jay and her three daughters to me, I had a difficult time picking which doeling to retain and which to move into other homes. The best compliment to a buck is their beautiful progeny and Annie was my "gateway" to understanding Ed's value.
I just love the outline of this doe! No doubt, this is where the chocolate smoky color comes in amongst his gold coat.

Both of his grandsires are this very beautiful and influential buck!

When I first saw the stacked pedigree on Hurricane, I knew he was very special. To look at him, you cannot help but admire his straight/ correct legs, uphill stance, and true dairy strength. He is long, has a beautiful front end and beautiful width. His daughters are both productive and correct... the true test of any good herdsire.
Hurricane combines the lines that I'm already working with and is a perfect addition to our herd. He's a distant "cousin" of our beloved Beans and related to many of our Dawnland goats.

As a 4 year old, Maddie earned a linear appraisal score of EEEE '91! Her great-great-granddam (Lenton Rose) is one of my favorite "OG's" that i remember from starting my first herd in Maine. For Glenys (Kyeema Ridge Farm) to take those genetics and, then, blend them with some of the best from the Rosasharn lines was pure magic. I love so many of the breeding choices that she pulled together!

I never post photos going back 4 generations but I so loved this doe when I first started back with Nigerian Dwarf goats in 2003. I remember being in awe of her incredible length and depth of body as well as her capacious mammary system. Her daughter, Morning Star NR Rosebud "Rosie" was one of my first goats ever. When I see her outline, even now, I think she is perfect. Such a true DAIRY goat.

An LA score of EEEE '92 speaks to the quality of this beautiful doe. Besides yelling the entire time and refusing to be set up, Tanunda was in the top 10 in her class at the 2014 ADGA Nationals at just 4 weeks fresh. She earned two of her CH legs despite the fact that she hated leaving the farm.

Moon Shadow's sire (Moonshine) was the littermate brother of one of the first goats I ever owned. I was a huge fan of his granddam, Gay-Mor JJU Lenton Rose!
Moon Shadow sired some of these amazing animals:
CH Weedy Tavern Farm Lilly LA'93
SGCH Weedy Tavern Farm Naomi LA 90
SG Kyeema Ridge MS Black Shadow LA88
SG Kyeema Ridge MS Madison Blues LA91
and is paternal brother to:
Tiny Angels Levi Blues- sire to 3 finished champion daughters

Belle is the first daughter of Old School Creamery Casco Bay and I sold her as a baby (with a pet wether) to a local family that was looking for backyard pet goats. She lived very happily with them for 3 years when they agreed to sell her back to me so I could get her in the show ring. Belle's dam has 2 Grand Champion legs, two of her sisters have grand champion legs, and I think Belle has the potential to be a finished champion. We are grateful to be able to get her out and show her off!

First freshening udder as a 3 year old- 12 hour fill
Casco is a gorgeous doeling out of lines that I know and love. Her grandparents include: Old Mountain Farm JustPlainJoe, SG Old Mountain Farm Katja Quinn, SG Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk +*B, and Old Mountain Farm Parti Favah!!! She is smoothly blended, stands on correct feet/ legs, and has a presence that turns heads in the show ring. She earned her first Grand Champion leg in a group of 63 milkers and I can't thank Julie Mannix of Old School Creamery enough for allowing me to be her 2-Leg.
