Sired out of Lost Valley Legacy *S*B and out of Kyeema Ridge MS Black Shadow.   As if the combination of Lost Valley and Rosasharn genetics aren't enough, this little guy's dam is out of  Morning Star NR Moonshine- a littermate brother to a beloved goat that used to reside in my former Moxie Blues Farm (Morning Star NR Rosebud).  This connection makes Maritime's Legacy feel like a long lost family member.

  One just has to look at Black Shadow's udder (not filled in the picture above) to see the capacity, amazing MSL, and plumb/ plump milkable teats.  This collapsible udder is a dream to milk and one that I'd love to see in future progeny at American Jewell Farm.

 A heavy linebreeding on Gay-Mor RA Kingwood ++*S, Laura Whitlock of Dawnland Farm writes of Legacy: 

"Legacy represents the best of the best of the old time Nigerian lines that were pivotal in developing these little goats into dairy animals. Although it seems like yesterday in my mind's eye, many of Legacy's forebears date back to the 1990's. Legacy was used for 2018 kids--and his two daughters and two sons are stunning. It's obvious that he is a strong general appearance buck with all of his kids showing improvement in width, top lines, legs/feet. Although Legacy is a small and refined buck, probably due to the degree of his line breeding, he adds stature and strength to his offspring."  We have one of those daughters (Dawnland America Jewell) along with Mariner Legacy and are thrilled to watch her grow here at American Jewell Farm.

This doe represents an amazing milking pedigree from Old Mountain Farm & Painted Pepper lines.   Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk is well known for producing the 2017 ADGA National Champion and Best Udder, CH Old Mountain Farm Merriment as well as the 2018 ADGA Reserve National Champion, SGCH Old Mountain Farm Shy Elk. Just look at all those Superior Genetics in the first two generations of this pedigree!  Really, how could I resist bringing this girl to Missouri? 

 Honey Lemon's first freshening udder was everything we hoped it would be and more!  Between her conformation, gorgeous udder, and sweet personality, this doe is one of our favorites!  The photo above is of Kodie Bradley - her first time ever showing a goat and I knew Honey Lemon would be the perfect goat.  Kodie did a beautiful job showing her and Honey Lemon was the perfect lady.

Painted Pepper Farm was the first strictly Nigerian Dwarf organic dairy farm in the country and was primarily built off of Old Mountain Farm goats.    As such, their focus was entirely on milk production and dairy character.  Lemon Meringue is a beautiful example of what Painted Pepper has produced: a deep bodied doe with a soft capacious udder with 2" teats that are a dream to milk.

Bold Elk is a force to be reckoned with.  Sire to the 2017 ADGA National Champion and Best Udder (Old Mountain Farm Merriment) and the 2018 ADGA Reserve National Champion (SGCH Old Mountain Farm Shy Elk), Bold Elk also has other offspring that are excelling in the showring and milk pail.  The best measure of a herdsire's worth is on the consistency of high quality offspring that he produces and this guy is proving to be priceless!

NC Promisedland Nemesis "Sissy" is the full package milking goat.  Her topline, strength in brisket, length/ depth of body, and beautiful udder are characteristics that we would love to see in our own herd. Speak EZ is not only a conformationally beautiful animal but his pedigree boasts 4 out of 4 grandparents with superior genetics designations.  This guy is a linebreeding on SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay ++*B who happens to be the full brother to top ten milking animals such as Old Mountain Farm Jewel, Creeping Thyme Farm Thelma, and Creeping Thyme Farm Whoa!  The kids that we've seen are very correct and we are excited to see his impact  on the future of our herd.

 Dawnland CDR Ambrosia represents the culmination of two decades of breeding by Laura Carye at Dawnland Farm and offers some of her best-ever genetics.  This beautiful doe is elegant, correct on her feet and legs, and has one of the most beautiful mammary systems that I've ever had in my herd.  The udder photo shown was with my once a day milking (thanks to my full time nurse job).  This doe is a show stopper and I am excited to build a herd with foundation genetics like this!

Bold Bean combines two of my favorite Nigerian Dwarf goats: Honey Lemon and Beans!  Honey and Beans are both very dairy animals and Honey's udder is well attached/ incredibly capacious... which made him a slam dunk as a herdsire for our breeding program.  His littermate sisters did quite well at the 2023 State Fair with Honey Bean winning Grand Champion Junior Doe/ BIS on the 4-H day under the care of Kodie Bradley and Lemon Eclair winning 1st place in her class in the open show.

Honey Lemon is a stunning doe that lived with me for 3-4 years until I sold her to a young lady at KB&CO Farm.  Honey was not a cull but I wanted to set her new owner up for success and I really feel that she is in a home that can shine.  Honey is extremely dairy with a gorgeous, well-attached, productive udder.

As a 2 year old, Tiny Angels RNB Sassaneq became a finished champion!  I was fortunate enough to meet her in person and she was breath taking.

I have long been a fan of Old Mountain Farm JustPlainEd, so, when I was given the opportunity to be his forever home, I was so very honored.  He is the sire to our does: Old School Creamery Annie Bies (amazing udder that you have to see!), Old Mountain Farm Love Bug, and Old Mountain Farm Squid Ink.  I've seen several of his daughters in other herds who have beautiful, well attached mammary systems and I'm so very excited to see where he takes our herd. He is definitely a buck to build a herd on.

Cheryle says of Ed's dam, "Old Mountain Farm Millet was a beautiful doe who moved to another farm after kidding here. Despite her only once a day milkings here, and a stressful 18 hour truck ride, she stepped off the transport truck, walked into her first three show rings as a six-year-old and easily became a finished champion. The first time in full hair coat only a couple of hours after arriving at her destination."

When Julie Mannix was kind enough to send Old Mountain Farm Anna Jay and her three daughters to me, I had a difficult time picking which doeling to retain and which to move into other homes.   The best compliment to a buck is their beautiful progeny and  Annie was my "gateway" to understanding Ed's value.

I just love the outline of this doe!  No doubt, this is where the chocolate smoky color comes in amongst his gold coat.
